On Bob Rae's Electability

Bob Rae impressed me quite a bit during Saturday's debate. I thought he came across quite well and I can see why people like him. But the thing is: he's Harper's wet dream. Tory insiders are actively wishing for a Rae victory and the reason is pretty obvious: what ever fragile hold we may have on some Ontario ridings, Rae would not be able to deliver his home province. He may not even be able to win a seat. People have long memeories and especially Tory people who will be all over him like a cheap suit. He will be drawn into the past again and again. And more importantly back to his provincial days. Notice how easy it was for Maurizio and Joe to drag Gerard Kennedy back into the provincial realm and defend the provinces. It made Kennedy, who I also like, look like an amateur. The is not to say that Bob Rae is an amateur, but he will not be able to escape his past. Even without what will surely come from the Tories, the people of Ontario will not want a replay of Rae.

Hey Vincent,

No problem. I understand the time constraints. Good luck!
